Hussain Jasani
Head, South Asian Studies, The Institute of Ismaili Studies
Hussain Jasani is the Head of the South Asian Studies (SAS) Unit at The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS), London. As the founding member of the SAS unit at the IIS, Hussain has the responsibility of defining the strategic vision for the Unit, setting its research agenda and overseeing research projects. Hussain also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for The Encyclopaedia of the Ismailis. In his previous role as the Educational Programme Manager at the IIS, Hussain provided oversight to HR development and educational endeavours spread in 30+ countries. He conceptualised and successfully launched multiple educational initiatives and a wide range of continuing education programmes.
Hussain obtained his first degree in Electronics and has an MA from SOAS, the University of London, where he is currently pursuing his PhD. Hussain is an active member of the boards of various companies across different industries. He has recently been appointed as a non-executive director in an impact company fighting hunger and climate change. He was born in India, studied in Asia, Europe and North America, and now lives in London with his wife and two children.
